Meet the Owners

 

Sean McClatchey

Sean grew up on the family farm in Palisade, NE, and lives in Lincoln now. The cattle bug never left him and he purchased a small herd of registered Gelbvieh and Balancer females in 2009 after reading about the gains producers were getting on Gelbvieh and Balancer feeder cattle. Gelbvieh are known for their milk, maternal, and muscle along with docility.

 

Virgil McClatchey

Virgil McClatchey has been farming and raising cattle for many years at Palisade. After obtaining his master's degree in animal nutrition from UNL and then working as a nutritionist for several years, he returned to the family farm in 1974 and recently relocated to the Valparaiso location.

Today the herd has approximately 130 registered Gelbvieh & Balancer females. Along with the registered herd, McClatchey Cattle sells commercial bred heifers each year and grows feeder cattle.
